2 gold medals for Liam Davie

Kelvin Cham, Reece Dall, Douglas Ross and Liam Davie travelled with Marius to Madistone in Kent this weekend to compete in the 2010 Pegasus Open Men’s Artistic competition.  The boys had a good competition with Liam winning gold medals on high bar and vault – well done Liam.

2010 Mens London Open

At the end of a very busy start to the year 3 boys from the City of Glasgow travelled down to Dagenham with their coach Marius Gherman to compete in the 2010 Men’s London Open.

Unfortunately Liam Davie had to withdraw from the competition due to injury but was at the competition to support Ryan, Douglas and Rob.

Mens artistic Scottish Championships 2010 & CDG Challenge results

City of Glasgow boys had a very successful championships this year in both the all around and individual apparatus finals.

Men’s artistic annual report for 2008

This year five  members of men’s artistic section where selected for the national and west regional academy squads, representing Scotland at major events including the Elite Grade finals, NDP Finals the Celtic Cup and UK School Games.

The Men’s Section is still operating with only one coach and waiting for Culture & Sport to do something for the 22 hours part time job we lost more than two years ago. Also, the Men’s Artistic Section have talent identified 9 boys who did trails at the end of June and were selected for the West Regional Academy Squad but at the moment Scottish Gymnastics is still looking to find the new West Academy Coach.  We find ourselves in the same situation not be able to start this development group due to coach staff shortage.

The best performances of this year for Men’s Artistic section were the two silver medals obtained by Rob Keys and Ryan McKee at British Championships in London.

The conclusion of 2008 will find the Men’s Section involved in a four Piece Competition, Scottish Squad Trials and the Christmas display in December.
